Beacon in the Night

I love this time of year,
even if it feels hectic sometimes.

Holiday Rush Mini-Break
Friday Night Date Night

One of my special joys during the holidays
is all the wonderful music I enjoy every year.

So if you need a short time out,
and maybe have a cup of coffee or tea to enjoy,
here is one of my favorite songs.

It's not a holiday song, per se;
it's a winter song.
It's poignant and bittersweet,
but it reminds me that no matter how dark it may seem,
the Ever-Patient Terry has always been there
to pull me through to light and safety.

He is my beacon in the night.

    1. Thanks, Linda! We were at the bar in Parkway trying to take a selfie to send my sister Barb who enjoys going to Parkway when she is in town. The bartender Haley took pity on us, took it, and sent it to Barb. I am still taking such baby steps with my first smart phone. This is a song a can drown in. Have a lovely day, my Montreal friend!

    1. Thanks for your kind words, Dawna! LOL My brother Roy stuck us with two nicknames upon meeting Terry the first time: The Clones and Thing One and Thing Two (from Dr. Seuss). It's one of the family jokes. Hope all is well with you!

  10. I went to the Christmas parade last night, made it feel much more like Christmas this year than ones in the past. I wish I worked at place like a lot of people where you get the week or two weeks of Christmas off. I miss school times like that.

    1. I hear you, Adam. I can remember the agony of working until 4:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve and having to be back at work on the 26th. One of the benefits of the oil downturn in the mid-1980s for me was that I got off the Oil Patch rollercoaster and went into teaching. I ended up teaching in a four track year-round school with Decembers off. Okay, so I had to teach in July and August ~ I'd take December over those months anytime.

I'm glad that you went to the parade last night! I'm sure that you and Daisy had fun together. Wishing you both all the Christmas joy you can experience at this busy time!
